We are looking forward to seeing you this Thursday and/or Friday for our first TWO DAY PNWTRA Annual Conference!

7:30am - 8:15am (both days)
Parking
Thursday: The Inn at the Convention center has their own parking garage, parking is $10 per day
Friday: See the attached map for parking garage locations at Legacy Emanuel Hospital
Lunch & Snacks
Continental breakfast, coffee, snacks & water will be provided both days.
Thursday lunch is on your own.
Due to a full schedule of presentations & limited access to surrounding lunch options, lunch is catered by Legacy Emanuel Hospital on Friday. A fun networking social will give you the opportunity to connect with other local professionals during lunch!

The Pacific Northwest Therapeutic Recreation Association (PNWTRA) was founded in 1989, and has since provided the regional Therapeutic Recreation Professionals with affordable and quality continuing education. Our association continues this 28 year tradition by providing the opportunity to gain .6 CEUs on day one and .7 CEUs on day two of the 2018 PNWTRA Annual Conference.

Pacific Northwest Therapeutic Recreation Association

Annual Conference 

April 12-13, 2018

 

Greetings! The Board of Directors for the Pacific Northwest Therapeutic Recreation Association invites submissions to present at our upcoming Annual Conference (Thursday, April 12 through Friday, April 13, 2018) in Portland, Oregon. This conference provides annual continuing education and networking opportunities for professionals and students in Oregon and surrounding states. 

 

Conference Theme: “Setting up Recreation Therapy for Life”

 

Presentation Topic Suggestions:  Creative presentations that speak to the benefits and application of recreation therapy and adaptive recreation/sports for therapists and providers.  Suggested themes for development include: personal, innovation, fiscal, programs, professional, leadership, skills, clients, evidence based practice, and legislature.  We are seeking presentations that explore effective recreation therapy topics applicable to ages throughout the lifespan.

 

Presentation Submission Deadline:  December 15th, 11:59 PM

 

Proposal Requirements:

●      Submit PNWTRA Presenter Application

(fillable application here or downloadable here)

●      Submit requests for accommodations, travel, presentation support, or speaking stipends - keeping in mind PNWTRA is a small grass roots organizations with limited resources.

 

*NEW* to conference presenting: Students and/or professionals new to conference presenting are welcome to explore a new 20 minute session format. PNWTRA’s intent is to offer opportunities to expand presentation skills in a supportive environment.
